A Dallas man is lucky to be alive after flying off a water slide at high speed, landing on the rocks below, and being seriously injured.

David Salmon was using barreling down a slide at a private home near Lake Travis last weekend when he lost control and went over the side on a turn.

Video captured by his friend, Danny Cummings, shows Salmon try to stop himself with his arms before going over and falling around 10 to 15 feet onto a rocky cliff.

Salmon was transported to a Round Rock hospital, where he was treated for fractured ribs, a broken arm, lacerations, and cuts and bruises on his back.

The accident may have broken some bones, but it didn't break Salmon's spirit, as evidenced by the colorful hashtags he included in a Facebook post containing the video: #waterslide #fail #failvideo #brokenarm #notdead.

I would say you're never too old to go on water slides, but maaaaybe stick to the ones that have safety features and aren't over cliffs.
