KWTX's Christy Soto reported that Waco ISD held their seventh annual family fest on Saturday.

The Waco ISD Family Fest is an event where parents register their kids for school, and also get all kinds of other materials necessary for success for the school year.

All students that attended the event got free backpacks and school supplies as well. The Waco ISD Family Fest is also looking out for the health of families as well.

The Waco ISD Family Fest offered free dental and vision examinations; as well as free immunizations for families. A parent at the event, Richard Carvajal said, “It's kind of costly when you have more than one child to buy backpacks and school supplies for so it really helps a lot.”

Waco Independent School District said they put this event on to make life easier for parents and also to make the community more tight knit. IF you were unable to attend the event, you can still register your child for school at wacoisd.org or go to any Waco ISD school to sign up.
