KWTX's Taina Maya reported that Waco's Cameron Park Zoo is going to experiment with something this upcoming week for the first time in its history.

Due to the extreme heat that Central Texans are set to deal with this upcoming week, Cameron Park Zoo are going to allow guests to bring in outside food and drink.

Cameron Park Zoo officials said, "You are not allowed to bring glass or alcohol and all ice chests will be subject to inspection." Also stated in a Facebook post from Cameron Park Zoo, "For the safety of our animals- no glass, straws, or lids will be allowed. Please do not share your food with the animals, your food can be harmful to them."

The Cameron Park Zoo will be just testing this for next week to see how it goes.
