FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Investigators say a convicted felon on the Texas 10 Most Wanted sex offender list has been captured in Colorado.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says 26-year-old Dakota Marcus Stewart was caught Tuesday in Florissant, Colorado, about 70 miles (112 kilometers) southwest of Denver.

Authorities say Stewart was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender. Records show his criminal history includes convictions in 2009 for aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by exposure involving two girls in Tarrant County.

Stewart had been on the Texas 10 Most Wanted sex offender list since last August, with warrants in Tarrant and Dallas counties.

Officials say Stewart's capture was the result of multi-agency investigations and not a tip, so no cash reward will be paid.
