A Temple man suspected of robbing a bank in Copperas Cove last weekend is now behind bars.

The FBI assisted the Copperas Cove and Temple Police Departments in identifying and apprehending 28-year-old Randy John Vargas. He was arrested Tuesday and transported to the Bell County Jail on $25,000 bond.

Vargas is suspected of robbing the First National Bank at 107 West Business Highway 190 on Saturday, February 6. Witnesses told police a man entered the bank shortly before 4 PM, demanded cash, then fled on foot.
