BE ALERT: Over 100,000 Texans Have Withdrawn Student From School Here’s , Why
The school year has started in Texas, but the seats are not as full of children as usual. According to Center Square, over 100,000 students have withdrawn from public schools in the great state since the 2022–2023 school year.
TEXAS SCHOOLS ARE EMPTY
Texas Education Agency and School District data stated that more than 50,000 students were pulled out of public school during the school year to be homeschooled. During the Covid era which was the 2020- 2021 school year, there were more than 83,000 withdrawals in the state. In Texas, there is a growing belief that homeschooling children may be more of an advantage than traditional classroom education. For example, homeschooling allows a child to get that one-on-one experience versus having to also have the attention of other students or distractions that can happen in classrooms.
WHY ARE PARENTS IN TEXAS WITHDRAWING THEIR CHILDREN?
Covid also scared a lot of parents into keeping their children at home, after the recent spike of Covid more and more Texas parents are deciding to homeschool their children. The benefits of going to public school in my opinion definitely would be social skills, my child was homeschooled due to COVID-19, and once he tried to hop back into public schooling, building social skills was somewhat difficult. Will the Texas school year end with another 100 thousand students withdrawing?
