BEWARE: DEADLY Dog Flu Outbreak Has Spread In Texas
Dog lovers and pet owners in Texas are understandably concerned as the CDC reports an outbreak of canine influenza, commonly known as dog flu, across the state. This virus can spread among our furry friends puppies, pups, and adult dogs. While canine influenza is primarily transmitted from dog to dog, it poses a minimal risk to humans. There has been no evidence to suggest that this virus can be transmitted from dogs to people, and there have been no reported cases of humans contracting the infection anywhere in the world.
FUR BABIES ARE AT HIGH RISK OF BEING SICK
For many Texans, their pets are like family often valued even more than some of the humans they encounter and the idea of anything harming them is deeply unsettling. It’s crucial to watch for specific symptoms that may indicate your dog has contracted this illness. Key signs include coughing, a runny nose, eye discharge, decreased appetite, and lethargy. Though not every dog will exhibit symptoms, it’s still important to be vigilant as the illness can range from mild to severe, potentially leading to pneumonia or even death.
WE HAVE TO TAKE GOOD CARE OF OUR FUR BABIES
Typically, the recovery time for most dogs infected with the flu is around two to three weeks; however, if a secondary bacterial infection occurs, it could result in more serious health issues, including pneumonia. As we enter flu season in Texas, be sure to monitor your beloved pets closely.
