Open Letter: Here Is Why The City Of Killeen Is Such A Great Place

I am very much overprotective when it comes to talking about the city of Killeen. It could be me being biased because I am a native who was actually born and raised here which is not very common. A lot of times because of the military base individuals who live in Killeen are usually someone who probably went to elementary school or high school here because their parents were in the military, but not me.

LOVING THE CITY OF KILLEEN IS TOO EASY

I was born at Darnell Hospital when  Fort Cavazo was still in Fort Hood Texas, when there were only two high schools in the city, and when the city only had one Walmart I loved it here! There have been times when I’ve heard individuals who come from other places around the world explain how they’re not that fond of  Killeen for whatever reason and the reality is, that every city has issues in certain areas. Good, bad, and ugly happen everywhere you go not just in Killeen.

WELCOME TO THE CITY OF KILLEEN

If I had to describe the city of Killeen in one word, it would be "family". I love a town where people know each other, and our children grow up with one another. Not to mention that the city of Killeen is beginning to grow more and more each year. As a little girl, I was often told not to stray away to downtown Killeen and now that’s where most of the parties and celebrations are held right in the belly of downtown and I love every bit of it! If you’ve traveled to Killeen or if you’re not from Killeen and you have negative opinions about it. There are two things that I suggest. No one asked you to stay here and the door is open for you to leave and don’t judge a book by its cover. I could’ve lived anywhere in the world, but Killeen will always feel and be home.
