According to Axios, Virginia’s flag is no longer considered appropriate in Texas. Recently, the Virginia state flag—featuring a bare-breasted figure—and lessons about the Commonwealth of Virginia were banned from school districts across Texas.

One such district in Texas, Lamar CISD, located about 30 minutes outside of Houston, decided last fall to remove a section about Virginia and its flag from its online learning platform for students in grades three through five.
A Flag Divided: The Virginia Ban in a Texas Educational Setting
When reviewing the Virginia flag, which was included in the lesson, the district determined it violated their recently adopted ban on any visual content depicting frontal nudity or deemed inappropriate for young children. As such, materials featuring this imagery will no longer be tolerated in elementary school libraries or curriculum content.
