Massive Texas Based Empire Now Selling To “5th Largest Pizzeria”
Temple, Texas, just like much of the Lone Star State, has been the home to some very large and successful companies and corporations over the past 100 years, but word has broken that Fikes Wholesale Inc. is selling to the nation's "5th largest pizza company."

Fikes is the parent company for Cefco convenience stores, and this recent selling means that around 150 current Texas stores will likely begin being converted to add a pizza kitchen, and so will an additional 50 other locations across Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida.
Casey's General Stores is based out of the Des Moines, Iowa suburb of Ankeny and just about 6 months ago first entered the Texas market. Just as I predicted in this previous article about Casey's acquiring 22 Lone Star convenience stores, that was only the first phase in a full invasion for our beloved Texas.

The purchase of Fikes is an all cash transaction worth over $1 billion according to this KCCI article.

I would not be surprised if this is the first step in converting all of the current Fike's assets into essentially being the anchor for all future growth by Casey's into Texas. The distribution centers already service almost 150 Texas stores, and can easily facilitate the needs of the 22 previously acquired Lone Star stores just up Interstate 35.
Imagine Temple is about to become the de facto Texas headquarters for Casey's with its prime location to "conveniently" serve the entire state.
