They're both pretty cool, they're both very fast, they're both, (potentially), deadly and they're both proudly made in Texas.

One of them is among the fastest things on the planet and can be super deadly. The other is less dangerous but you are far more likely to be killed by it.

I don't have a bunch of fancy stats to prove that last part but keep reading. I'm pretty sure you'll agree with me in the end.

Texas is home to so many businesses, making so many products, it's hard to find a place to even start the "made in Texas" list. Some are pretty well known, some not so much ... including these 2 fast and deadly ones.

Death From Above

Fort Worth is home to the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics manufacturing facilities and they make the F-35 Lightning II. Said to be the most advanced and lethal fighter in the world, all F-35 variants have a, (fully loaded mind you), top speed of Mach 1.6 - almost 770 miles per hour. It can also take out a small town.

USAF’s F-35A can carry up to 22,000 lb of weapons on 10 stations: two internal bays for stealth, and/or six wing and fuselage pylons for max loadout. - airandspaceforces

Safe to say, you don't want to make one of these mad. Not only are they way fast, one variant of the F-35 is also way slow ... it can actually freakin' hover.

What Other Crazy Fast Thing Is Made In Texas?

Sealy, Texas is where the Hennessey Venom GT is made. It can't go to ludicrous speed like the F-35 but, at just under 300mph, it's still pretty quick. (For reference, takeoff speed for a 757 jet airliner is only 160mph.)

This beast is also beautiful and deadly but on a more limited scale than the F-35. The only ones at risk here are stupid, inexperienced or drunk drivers ... and anyone in their path.
