The Best Dad Rock Bands According to Texas, New Mexico & Arizona
Whether it's Texas, New Mexico or Arizona, we all love dad rock. In fact according to a study by Merchoid, EVERY state loves dad rock. Bands like Van Halen, Led Zeppelin & Aerosmith are considered "dad rock" but as of recently, bands like Nirvana, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, all have joined the "dad rock" category (whether we like it or not). But which ones are the best ones? We'll go through each state, in alphabetical order.
What is Arizona's favorite dad rock band?
Out of a survey of 3,000 Americans, the Grand Canyon State chose Linkin Park as their favorite, along with Iowa & North Dakota also chose Linkin Park as their favorite. I think it's fitting since Chester Bennington WAS born in Arizona (so maybe it's that hometown love).
Here's New Mexico's favorite dad rock band
When choosing the ultimate dad rock band, New Mexico chose Nickelback, arguably the most popular dad rock band of the last 20 years. They weren't the only ones; 14 other states agreed that Nickelback was the best one.
And finally we have Texas' favorite dad rock band
I'm not gonna lie...I was surprised by this choice. I thought ZZ Top would've been the top choice but nope. The ultimate dad rock band, at least to Texas, is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. To be fair, they have rocked Texas many times & Anthony Keidis has even said that Texans are nicer than Californians on Joe Rogan's podcast, so maybe it's our way of showing our appreciation too.
Fun fact, there actually IS a band called Dadrock out for Fort Worth, Texas, so they can be the one of the "unofficial" dad-rock bands of Texas along with RHCP.
In case you were wondering, the Red Hot Chili Peppers were also California's choice of ultimate dad rock band (of course).
I'd say all 3 states had great choices for the ultimate dad rock band (even if I don't want to admit they're dad rock yet).
