It's National Donut Day. What does that mean? It's a day we celebrate Donuts. Isn't that everyday?

Nope. Donuts have a unique history.

Here are some of the Best Donuts in Central Texas.

  • Shipley

    Local & Tasty

I find that true Central Texans (those born & raised here) will fight for a Shipley Donut. You can try to convince them that they're wrong, but odds are you'll end up bloody. Or jellied.

  • Krispy Kreme

Just Glad they don't sell Krumpets

The closest one of these drug houses is down in North Austin. 12586 Research BLVD. I almost died on my first trip to the Kreme. The guy I was driving with crossed 3 lanes of traffic, going the wrong way, because he had worked himself up into a donut frenzy. After that, I always smelled death when confronted with a Krispy Kreme.

  • Academy Donuts

    Little River-Academy

Local is best. People really love their Blueberry Cake donuts. 109 TX-95, Little River-Academy

  • Jack & Jill Donuts

    More Local

Good a place as any when you got a craving for donuts.

  • Round Rock Donuts

    World's Best

Now, I'm a fat man, so I know whats good and decadent. And the drive down to Round Rock is truly worth any traffic jams you might have to sit through, because the end result is just pure golden yellow goodness. Only issue. Having to eat the whole box on the side of the road. Because, honestly, who can wait 40 minutes to eat these beauties.
