Centex Man Charged for Shooting His Nephew

KWTX reported a man in Bosque County was brought into custody Wednesday for charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Adam Scott, 53, was being held without bond. Scott's nephew, Derek Scott, 25, was the victim who was shot in this incident.

Derek was in stable condition Wednesday after being airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco following the shooting Tuesday night.

The Sheriff's Office of Bosque County said the shooting took place in the Lakeside Village area and was reported to authorities right around 9:00 p.m.

Investigators recovered two handguns, a 9mm bullet from the home where the shooting happened, and a shell casing. The sheriff's office believe drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the violence.
