Copperas Cove Independent School District opened enrollment on Tuesday for the 2013-2014 school year.

229 in-district families arrived before noon to register new students for classes. The high turnout led to long waiting times for some families.

The center allowed parents to take care of the entire registration process, including signing up for bus transportation and ensuring shot records are up to date, in one place, making the process more convenient for parents.

The center will also be open on Wednesday. Registrations are accepted for out-of-district students in prekindergarten through eighth grade and new-student transfer requests. Thursday is a make-up day for all students.

Cove projects enrollment of 8,364 students, with the largest increase expected among second grade students.
