East Texas Teacher Gets 10 Tears for Child Porn

TYLER, Texas (AP) — A former East Texas high school teacher has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for possessing more than 1,200 images and videos of child pornography.

A federal judge in Tyler on Wednesday sentenced 43-year-old James Brent Malone of Henderson. Malone in June pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

Investigators last January carried out a search warrant at Malone's home and recovered the images from a computer and DVDs. Some of the material included children under age 12 engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

The Henderson Independent School District placed Malone on put on paid leave following the accusations. He no longer works for the district.

Henderson is 125 miles southeast of Dallas.
