UPDATE: Due to the extra chilly weather expected this weekend, the Motown Downtown event has been moved to Saturday, March 5. Read on for details about what to expect from this hot Killeen block party.

I love it when the people of Killeen, Texas and my entire community gets together and has a really good time. Due to the pandemic, having a good time sometimes sounds impossible, but tons of people (myself included) are ready to get back out and celebrate with each other.

COME OUT AND HAVE SOME FUN

I am super excited to say if you happen to be a Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, or maybe even a Diana Ross fan, you need to come out and enjoy yourself in our great city on February 26.

From the hours of 1 PM to 5 PM, the City of Killeen will be hosting a Motown Downtown event. There will be great music with plenty of good times, and families should come out and enjoy themselves. The weather should be nice, and you're welcome to wear a mask in the crowd if you're more comfortable that way. Either way, it's a nice chance to get some fresh air and enjoy some great music.

ENJOY YOURSELF IN KILLEEN

There will also be a 360 photo booth, which is really cool and you don't want to miss it. Craft vendors will also be out there, and last but not least my favorite subject, the food.

There will be food trucks at this event, so bring your appetite. The location of this event is going to be East Avenue D in Downtown Killeen.

If you are new to the city and you’ve never been to a Killeen block party, you are definitely in for a treat. Being a native myself, I can tell you from experience that Killeen knows how to throw a party and make everyone feel welcome.

Top 20 Restaurants Central Texans Wish Would Come to Temple

A while back, I asked the good people of Temple if they could picture a good restaurant to fill the lot on North General Bruce Drive where the soon to be torn down Long John Silver's stood.

This was before it was announced that a Dutch Bros. Coffee location would open there (which was one of the places I predicted as a contender in our article).

So now Dutch Bros. is open in that spot, but the responses to my survey were interesting because they paint a picture of just how diverse Temple's population is. People recommended some familiar restaurants with locations in the surrounding area, but also a few I'd never even heard of.

Here are the top 20 results of the survey. Let's see what the good people of Temple are craving!
