I’m Lynn Woolley with your Logic Minute for 4/29/13

On Thursday, mourners gathered to remember those who died in West,
including ten first responders. Also on Thursday, the Sacramento Bee
ran an editorial cartoon mocking them. That liberals are insensitive
boobs is not surprising. But this cartoon was “out there” even for
them. Governor Perry is depicted, touting Texas as a low-tax, low
regulation state where business is booming – alongside a drawing of
West blowing up. The government may have dropped the ball on
inspections of the West Fertilizer Company. Stipulate that. But
Governor Perry’s – and my – preference for lower regulations involves
overreaching government that makes it difficult to start or run a
business. That has nothing to do with safety at a plant. But Jack
Ohman who drew the cartoon thinks he was right on track. For
progressives – he was. This is the way they think – and they see
nothing wrong with it.
