Ramen is the number one staple of college students everywhere, so it seemed only fitting that I experiment with a new way to cook it. Today's recipe updated basic ramen noodles by adding a slice of cheese to give extra appeal. It definitely worked.
The preparation is unbelievably simple, as anyone who has ever cooked ramen knows- simply boil water, add the noodles, drain the water, and add seasoning and cheese. Overall, it only takes a few minutes, and the result is delicious (if not particularly healthy).
This recipe passed three separate taste tests, including approval from myself, a notoriously close-minded and picky eater, and even gained a thumbs-up in the all-important mother test.

Cheesy Ramen Noodles

Prep Time: ≈0 minutes

Cook Time: ≈5 minutes

INGREDIENTS

2 cups water

1 (3 ounce) package any flavor ramen noodles

1 slice American cheese

DIRECTIONS

Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Add ramen noodles and cook 2 minutes until tender. Pour out water, then stir in seasoning packet and cheese to serve.

EVALUATION

Taste: 4.5- the recipe tastes quite good, but it is salty, as is most ramen, and cheese haters are left out.

Ease of Preparation (5=easy, 1=difficult): 5- I did have to confirm what a saucepan was, but I have a feeling I could have made this recipe in anything.

Practicality: 5- It's ramen and cheese. Even if you have to go buy the ingredients, it only costs a few bucks. If a college kid can do it, anyone can.

Overall score: 4.75- The only reason to not make this recipe is if you hate ramen, hate cheese, or feel like cooking this is beneath you.
