McDonald's store No. 2801, located at Fort Hood Street and Central Texas Expressway in Killeen, reopened Wednesday after a remodel which began in April.

The renovations were part of a nationwide effort to update McDonald's restaurants.

The store opened shortly after midnight on Wednesday, offering $1 Big Macs and $1.99 Happy Meals.

After the remodel, the restaurant has an updated, more modern look, as well as features intended to improve customer service. Such features include a double drive-thru lane, digital menus, a new play area for children, and a computerized system which helps employees track and fill orders with greater efficiency.
