Woman Rescued From Hole at Temple Construction Site

A woman was sent to Scott & White Hospital in Temple Tuesday afternoon after falling into a hole at a construction site.

The woman fell into the hole near South General Bruce Drive and South 49th St. around 2:51 pm. There’s been no report of the extent of her injuries, but authorities say the woman was conscious and talking to workers and rescue crews as they worked to retrieve her.

A firefighter was eventually lowered into the hole and pulled the woman to safety. She was transported to Scott & White around 3:48 pm. Officials have not commented on how the woman managed to fall into the hole.
