Close to a hundred people stayed at Waco Regional Airport overnight on Monday due to inclement weather.

Rhyan Henson with our news partner, KWTX, reported that the plane people were waiting on was diverted from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport as a precaution. The plane was supposed to stay grounded in Waco for 15 minutes, but many passengers said they didn't end up leaving until around 4:00 this morning due to complications.

The passengers awaiting the flight faced another long wait to board, as they were bussed to DFW to catch their flight. An airport official said allowing passengers to board in Waco would have violated safety procedures.
