Another event bites the dust with cases of COVID-19 soaring in Texas.

According to a statement on the official Austin City Limits site, the festival has been canceled for 2020. Like most others, I did not see the pandemic continuing into the Fall, but it certainly looks like that's the direction we're heading.

I'm down for scrapping 2020 all together. Let's just try again in 2021. I think ACL agrees, as they shared this statement:

"We will return to Zilker Park on October 1-3 and October 8-10, 2021 to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. We encourage fans who have already purchased tickets to hold on to them to lock in access to next year’s festival at 2019 prices. Refunds will be made available for fans who purchased directly through the festival and cannot attend next year’s dates."

I'm glad that the artist line up was never announced though. This way we're not aware of all the fun we could have had.

What do you prefer - live music or virtual performances? Do you think ACL should have attempted a virtual festival?
