A man who allegedly set his truck on fire and reported it stolen is now in the Bell County Jail after being extradited back to Texas from Orlando, Florida.

The Harker Heights Fire Marshall’s Office, in collaboration with the Harker Heights PD, Copperas Cove PD and the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, worked to bring Christian Omar Rodriguez back to Bell County to face arson charges. Rodriguez allegedly reported his Dodge pickup truck stolen in May of 2012, but when authorities found the vehicle on Juanita Drive in Harker Heights, evidence suggested that Rodriguez had set the fire himself.

After a year-long investigation of the incident, Justice of the Peace Ted Duffield issued a felony arson arrest warrant and Orlando authorities took Rodriguez into custody.
