A mother and her 3-week-old daughter were reported missing by the father of her children last Thursday evening.

According to a press release from the Austin Police Department, Heidi Broussard, 33, and her daughter, Margot Carey, were last seen Thursday morning when she dropped her 6-year-old son off at elementary school. Shane Carey, the father of Broussard's children, last spoke with her that morning around 8 am and believes that Heidi returned home to their apartment near West William Cannon and South First Street after dropping off their son at school.

Reports from CNN state that after work, Carey noticed Broussard's car in the apartment parking lot, but she wasn't inside the home. Carey didn't question her absence and simply believed Broussard to be visiting a friend who lives in the same complex. Later, Carey received a call from his son's school that he did not get picked up.

Currently the FBI has assigned its Child Abduction Rapid Deployment team to assist the APD. At this time authorities do not have a person of interest. Austin Police are asking for the public's help in finding Heidi and Margot. Heidi is a 5'3, white female, with long dark hair with highlights. Margot is 7 pounds 7 ounces, 22 inches and is also a white female. If you have any tips or information contact 512-974-5250.
