Transform Temple, Wilson Park Recreation Center, and more community partners are teaming up to host the 2nd Annual Back to School/Back 2 Basics Community Fair Saturday, August 17th.

This year's fair happens at the Meredith Dunbar Learning Academy gymnasium located at 1717 E Avenue J from 9:00 AM to Noon.

The Back to School/Back 2 Basics Community Fair is free and open to the public, and the first 300 Kindergarten to 5th grade students to arrive will receive a complimentary backpack full of school supplies.

A limited number of school physicals will also be available.

Over 40 exhibitors will be at the fair to provide information about a wide variety of community resources covering health and wellness, education, employment, and home ownership.

Temple Community Clinic will also provide free health screenings.

“The goal of this event is to provide residents opportunities and resources to help reach their personal goals, while also helping kids get ready to go back to school,” Said Jo-Ell Guzman, Resource Coordinator for Transform Temple. “We would like to thank all of the volunteers, organizations and businesses for their generous donations which help make this event such a success for our community.”
