Bell County Announces Small Business Grant Program
Going into 2020, no one could have imagined that we'd be where we are now. Small businesses are hurting, and many are either facing closure or have already closed.
Locally owned businesses are not only vital to the economy, but to our very identity. When they shut their doors, we lose a part of who we are as a community.
Any help local businesses can get is great news right now, and Bell County has just offered a lifeline.
Bell County will be providing grants to small businesses using coronavirus relief funds. The maximum amount per business is $15,000, with a total funding amount of $800,000.
Applications will be accepted from September 1 to September 10.
To be eligible for a grant, a business must meet a number of criteria, including being locally owned and independent, located within Bell County, and responsible for all revenues and expenses. They must have had 25 or fewer full time equivalent for payroll prior to disaster declaration, and must have a current or anticipated revenue decline beginning on March 1, 2020 resulting from the impact of COVID-19.
The funds can be used for things like payroll costs, contract labor, supplier payments, rent/lease/mortage payment, or reasonable business expenses.
You'll find a full list of eligibility requirements HERE, along with contact information if you have any questions or concerns. You'll find a link to the application at the bottom of that page, or you can click HERE to see a PDF copy.
If your small business could use some help right now, please look into this grant. What you do contributes to who we are, and we want to see you charge through this difficult time and emerge stronger on the other side.
