If you’re in the temple area, you can participate in the H-E-B Fourth of July Family Fun Fest at Crossroads Park, 1020 Research Parkway. Gates open at 4PM with family activities, food, and vendors. Live music from Brodie Lane Band begins at 7PM, and the fireworks start at 9:30PM.
Grab your family and have a great time at Crossroads Park! This event used to be held at Miller Park across town, but the new park complex on Research Parkway affords a little more room and better traffic flow once things wrap up.
KILLEEN
You will more than likely catch me and my family out in the Killeen area. In fact, Killeen is celebrating the holiday a couple of days early, so even if you're not a native, you may want to consider joining the fun and packing in a little extra celebrating!
Downtown Killeen will host the Independence Day Extravaganza on Saturday, July 2 from 4 PM until 10 PM.
Earlier l this month I wrote an article about this event, mentioning that there is going to be amazing music, delicious food, and interesting vendors, so if you’re in the Killeen area come say hello to me.
FORT HOOD
Fort Hood will be celebrating early as well with Freedom Fest on Friday, June 24. It all happens at Hood Stadium, with live music from local DJs, the 1 CD band, and special musical guests X Ambassadors and Cassadee Pope.
Admission is free, but you'll need to stop by the Fort Hood Visitors Center to get a pass if you're not a soldier or military family.
Gates open at 4PM, and there'll be food trucks, family activities, and more. The fireworks start at 9:30 PM!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY 2022
However you choose to celebrate Independence Day, I hope you have a safe and fun holiday and take time to reflect on why we celebrate.
Have fun!
