Belton ISD held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday for the new Lake Belton High School.

In May of 2017, voters approved a $149.7 million bond to fund the construction of two new Belton ISD campuses and smaller projects at two existing facilities.

Thursday's groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction at the site of the District’s second comprehensive high school campus to address the continued growth of Belton ISD.

With capacity for approximately 2,500 students, Lake Belton High School is slated for completion in time for the 2020-2021 school year.

Belton ISD’s current high school enrollment is 3,278. By the time the first class graduates from Lake Belton High School in 2023, the District is expected to have approximately 4,500 high school students.

Thanks to Belton ISD for inviting us out, and for the shirt and hat!
