Belton Man Charged After Allegedly Shooting Teen Girl in the Face
We now know the name of a man suspected of shooting a 19-year-old girl in the face at a home in Belton Tuesday morning.
A spokesperson for the City of Belton confirmed Friday morning that 20-year-old Jose Angel Torres of Belton has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Family Violence - a first degree felony. Bell County Jail records also indicated two motions to revoke probation.
According to records, Torres was booked into the Bell County Jail at 1:29 Tuesday. He remained in jail late Friday morning in lieu of bonds totaling $102,000.
As reported earlier this week, the shooting occurred shortly before 11 AM Tuesday in the 3200 block of the I-14/US 190 frontage road in Belton. The victim was reportedly conscious when emergency responders arrived and was transported to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
The representative we spoke with was not able to share the condition of the victim or her identity.
