Thanks to the help of technology, we may be able to help solve a case that the Belton Police Department is investigating.

According to a press release from the Bell County Sheriff's Office, a burglary of habitation occurred on May 8, 2021, but the accused burglars don't appear to be the sharpest tools in the tool shed.

One of the items stolen from the home was a home security camera. Just 4 days after the theft occurred, the presumed burglars decided to fiddle with the camera. Unbeknownst to the suspects, the camera is motion activated and started recording. Luckily for the real owner of the camera, the device stored the video footage, which the owner was able to pass on to the police.

The suspects are seen recorded on camera for approximately 5 hours. Apparently they had no clue that the camera was on, or recording for that matter. The individuals appear to be in an unknown residence, and now police need assistance identifying the suspects.

I'm guessing the presumed burglars thought they were out of the woods, and made no attempt to conceal their identities. The camera catches pretty good photos of a male and female.

Just FYI, it's not the 90's anymore. You can't just cut some wires or cover a camera and think that you've disengaged the system. Technology today is far more advanced, and has been specifically created to deter theft and hacking. It's time for the suspects to come forward or they'll go viral for not only their crime, but their complete ignorance as well.

If you recognize the suspects, contact investigator Dennis Wiges at the Bell County Sheriff's Office at (254) 933-5438 or you can send an e-mail to
