Halloween should be a fun time of tricks and treats for everyone, including our doggos.

The folks behind the Copperas Cove Five Hills Scholarship Pageant certainly agree, and they've once again planned a barkin' good bash for four-legged partiers and their humans.

The 6th Annual Howl-O-Ween Puppy Pawlooza is going down at Copperas Cove City Park Pool on Saturday, October 31st.

Starting at 9AM, the pool will be open for dogs to swim, splash, and play. There'll also be an obstacle course where puppos can show off their athletic prowess and have some fun running along with their humans.

Things get even more exciting at 10AM, when the Howl-O-Ween dog walk begins. There'll be puppy rest stops for participants, plus pet trick-or-treating, a howling contest, a pet parade, and a costume contest.

That's right: You can dress your furry friend up in their spookiest/most adorable costume for a shot at some prizes. You're welcome to dress up too.

The Howl-O-Ween Puppy Pawlooza will benefit the Copperas Cove Animal Shelter. Copperas Cove Five Hills Ambassador Kaydence Roberts asks that you bring an item to donate in exchange for admission to the event. The shelter could really use pet supplies like food, cat litter, toys, leashes, and bedding. Really, anything you can imagine would help a shelter pet (especially a dog or cat) feel safe and comfortable during their stay.

You're also welcome to make a cash donation.

The first 100 pets to arrive will receive a special Howl-O-Ween orange bandana, so play to get there early if you can.

You can find more information, including vending opportunities, on Eventbrite. Money raised from vendor fees and donations will go toward paving walkways at the shelter where people considering adoption can enjoy time with the pet they're thinking of giving a forever home.
