Central Texas May Get Another Buc-ee’s Soon – Guess The Perfect Spot?
Buc-ee's is not just a gas station or a rest stop, it's a major tourist attraction.
The Texas institution is known for its award-winning bathrooms (ranked cleanest in the nation), homemade fudge, rows upon rows of gas pumps, plus clothing, blankets, and other collectibles branded with a happy, grinning beaver.
Buc-ee's is also a landmark, since the giant yellow sign featuring the world's friendliest beaver can be seen from miles away.
The World's Largest Buc-ee's
The Buc-ee's in New Braunfels holds the title of largest convenience store in the world at 66,335 square feet, at least for right now.
The Buc-ee’s in Sevierville, Tennessee will take over that title when it is complete. It will have 120 fuel pumps, a 250-foot car wash, and 74,000 square feet of indoor shopping.
However, it looks like the Buc-ee's will keep the title of longest car wash in Katy, Texas at 255 feet in length. Take a look:
New Central Texas Buc-ee's Location
Our news partner KWTX is reporting that rumors are swirling all over Hill County about Buc-ee's, but officials say they cannot confirm the popular chain is planning to build a new location there.
Art Mann, Administrator for the Hillsboro Economic Development Corporation, says there has been no type of agreement made with the city as of right now. He did confirm that the company has purchased land off U.S. Highway 77 near the TA Travel Center.
Buc-ee’s representatives have not responded to KWTX.
According to an article in the San Antonio Business Journal, Hillsboro is on the list of future Buc-ee’s locations to open in 2025.
Co-working office company Firmspace has also announced that Buc-ee's leased space in their portion of Austin's Google Tower to use as a third Buc-ee’s corporate office.
