Cha Ching: Now’s Your Chance to Buy the Largest Private Lake in Texas
The largest private lake in Texas is for sale, and can be all yours for the low, low price of just $110 million. Fairfield Lake in Freestone County, about an hour and a half southeast of Dallas, is for sale with an asking price of $110 million. That asking price also comes with its own State Park.
That's Right: A State Park
The lake itself is about 2,400 acres of the 5,025 total acres that are for sale, and is part of the Fairfield Lake State Park.
KSAT reports that the park is leased by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The new owners can decide on the future of that lease once they buy the property.
Got A Few Million Burning A Hole In Your Pocket?
For $110 million you can own this slice of Texas paradise and continue on with allowing others to visit for camping, fishing, hiking, biking, and so much more.
The Great Outdoors
The lake is great for all sorts of recreation including fishing, skiing, and boating. Those that have fished there report that the lake is stocked with catfish, bluegill, largemouth bass, and more.
The wildlife include whitetail deer, 180 species of birds including bald eagles and just about everything else you'd expect from a state park this size.
$110 million seems like a steal for this property.
Blake Hortenstine of Hortenstine Ranch Company says, “They say everything is bigger in Texas and that is definitely the case with this exceptional Fairfield Lake property. A water asset of this magnitude is virtually impossible to find anywhere in the lower 48 states, and combined with the land development possibilities and amenities, is the only offering of its kind.”
Two things on my wish list, win the lottery and buy some land. Let's start with winning the lottery first.
