State champion high jumper Cory Scott is still the only Copperas Cove Bulldawg basketball player ever to sign with a Division I basketball program. He's just going to do it at a different school.

Word came from Bulldawg head boys basketball coach Billy White on Wednesday that Scott, who had caught the eye of Texas Tech track coaches during his run to the state title, has signed with the Red Raiders to play basketball for new Tech head coach Tubby Smith.
Scott had earlier signed with Stephen F. Austin, a Division I school in Nacogdoches, but was able to get his release from SFA when head coach Danny Kaspar was hired at Texas State.
Scott's deal at the Lubbock school is for a full-ride basketball scholarship, but he could continue his track career as well.
He will move to Lubbock this weekend to get ready for workouts with his new teammates.
