The Copperas Cove Cares program will end on Friday, May 8.  The program has been in effect since March 23.  The initiative was put into place to help seniors during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Over 16,800 meals have been distributed so far to those who qualified for the Copperas Cove Meals on Wheels program.  Approximately over 482 meals a day will have been delivered to individuals by the end of the program this Friday.

There were a lot of different organizations that contributed to this massive task of making sure the community didn't go hungry, some which included the City of Copperas Cove, Copperas Cove Economic Development Cooperation, and the Copperas Cove Independent School District, along with many other organizations.

Any person who still needs help and would like to receive frozen meals from the Hill County Community Action Association’s Meals on Wheels Program and meets certain criteria from the Older Americans Act (OMA) can call (254) 547-6022 and click here for more information on the program.
