The Copperas Cove Police Department is seeking the public's help in their investigation of a homicide that happened back in July.

According to a press release from CCPD, on July 23 at approximately 11:13 pm, officers responded to the intersection of S. 7th Street and W. Avenue E in reference to shots being fired.

Upon arrival, police found 21 year old Devonn Dozell Mayhew in the roadway dead from a gunshot wound. Copperas Cove detectives as part of their investigation obtained video surveillance captured near the crime scene which shows a person of interest observed on video shortly before the shooting.

Crime Stoppers has increased the reward to up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment of the suspect. Calls to Copperas Cove Crime Stoppers can be anonymous.
