A Copperas Cove woman was behind bars Wednesday after a domestic dispute turned into a standoff.

According to our news partners, Genna Michelle Ferguson and a man whose identity was not release were drinking in a travel trailer behind a home in the 500 block of Primrose Drive early Wednesday morning when Ferguson asked the man to leave. The man later told police that when he didn't leave immediately, Ferguson fired a shotgun blast into the roof of the trailer, then pointed a pistol at him.

The man fled and called 911. When police arrived, Ferguson reportedly refused to leave the trailer. A SWAT team was called and spent three hours negotiating with Ferguson until she surrendered peacefully around 5 AM.

Fortunately no one was hurt. Unfortunately, neighbors started their day much earlier than they planned because police evacuated people from nearby homes while negotiations were taking place.

Imagine being woken up from a dead sleep by police pounding on your door and telling you it's time to evacuate because a drunk neighbor is breaking bad.

Not a great start to the day.
