Creepy Roadside Doll Haunts Travelers in the Desert Near El Paso, Texas

There’s an eerie looking doll hanging on a post along a rural county road in Horizon City near El Paso, Texas, that’s giving drivers the creeps.

Is it a long-forgotten Halloween decoration? A macabre roadside memorial? An innocent marker? Or something more sinister? Will my nightmares ever go away?

Seriously, though, what kind of The Hills Have Eyes s**t is this?

The spooky sight is on display where Vista Larga intersects Darrington Road just down from the Clint exit off I-10. The freaky doll sits catty-corner from a sign pointing you in the direction of “Lienzo Charro Villa Bejar.”

Anyone slowing down long enough to stare will find its lifeless black eyes staring back from a cracked white face with thick black eyebrows. Its head, topped with a jester-like hat, slumps to the left.

From a distance, its black lips look like they’re curled up in a sneer. But from a distance is as far as I’ll investigate.

And then there’s the shackles around her wrists. ¡Ay, Dios mío mil veces!

I’ve inquired about it on social media platforms, but nobody seems to know the story behind the doll’s existence. Most simply advise me to stay away, and not touch it.

You don’t need to tell me that twice. I wouldn’t walk up to it to get a closer look, let alone touch it.

So, unless someone wants to go knocking on doors, its presence is going to remain a mystery. But if you do, don't go alone because apparently, the desert has eyes, too.

And if I've learned anything from watching horror movies, I would advise against taking it home.
