LAMPASAS - A bomb threat at a Lampasas business had local authorities closing several streets early Thursday morning.

A threat against Windsor Foods, in the 600 block of East 3rd Street, was received and the building was immediately evacuated just before 4 a.m. according to Lampasas police. As a result of the threat East 2nd, East 3rd, Pecan and Hackberry streets were closed. Lampasas schools were open Thursday but some bus routes had to be changed to avoid the closed roadways.

Lampasas police and fire units, a Fort Hood explosive ordnance disposal unit, county sheriff’s department units and management at the plant all responded to the threat.

Houston-based Windsor Foods produces frozen foods for the consumer market, commercial restaurants and food service operations, according to its website.
