Fish can be disgusting creatures. But humans certainly leave a bigger footprint. The ocean is littered so much that it does comes up and invade Texas beaches. Luckily some humans care enough to volunteer to clean up.

Wednesday, the results were announced by the Texas General Land Office of the fall Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup. And it seems that 8,000 volunteers joined forces and removed all the trash they could find along 169 miles of Texas Coastline.

This volunteer clean-up effort started back in 1986. Some of the items found this fall include:

  • baby strollers
  • fireworks
  • windshield wiper blades
  • vampire teeth
  • bowling ball

Remember folks, when you go out bowling on the beach, don't forget your balls.

The next Texas General Land Office-led clean-up effort will be held April 22nd, 2017. So if you want to help, then plan accordingly.
