A fire that prompted the evacuation of a Temple Walmart was set intentionally, investigators say.

Temple Fire and Rescue Public Information Officer Santos Soto reports that crews were dispatched to the Walmart Super Center at 6801 West Adams Avenue at 1:40 PM Tuesday.

Employees were evacuating shoppers when firefighters arrived, and had already used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames. Light smoke filled the building.

Temple Fire and Rescue's Deputy Fire Marshals are investigating, and say someone intentionally set flame to a rack of baby clothes. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Those deputy fire marshals are working with Temple police and Walmart employees to review security footage and obtain images of any suspects and their vehicle.

Meanwhile, Temple Fire & Rescue is reminding the public that arson is a felony offense, and that information leading to an arrest in any local arson case could net a cash reward of up to $500.

If you know anything about this or any other arson case in our area, please contact the Fire Marshal's Office at (254) 298-5955.

I don't know why anyone would want to set fire to the baby clothes at Walmart. If you don't like them, you don't have to buy them. Geez.
