Five Texas Cities Make the Top 25 List of Cities to Live In
Texas is great. Here's another list that proves it.
CBS News is reporting on the list of the Top 25 Cities to be living in right now, and 1/5th of the cities are right here in Texas.
The city review website Niche ranked the cities based on crime statistics, public schools, cost of living, job opportunities and local amenities. They based their rankings on data from the U.S. Census bureau, the FBI, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and other sources.
Niche claims that Arlington Virginia is the number one place to live in America, but that's crazy. It's a county. Sure, it's close to D.C. but by the "common sense" that should be a negative. I don't care how great the schools are, or all the historical monuments. You're surrounded by people without a soul, and who lie for a living. Yea, that's what I want my children surrounded around. If anyone is going to lie and traumatize my kids it's gonna be me and not some rank politician.
- Woodlands TX
Number 20
It seems The Woodlands have great job opportunities and large educated populace. So much so that it placed them in the top 20.
- Austin
Number 18
I'm sure the cost of living knocked this city down a few notches, but the nightlife and diversity were big hits.
- Richardson TX
Number 16
It seems their roadside flower program was hit, plus good public schools and notable diversity were the other popular factors.
- Round Rock TX
Number 15
It was the schools that put this Austin suburb ahead of Austin itself. If you want to know the real factor, you might want to try the donuts.
- Plano TX
Number 5
This was the top ranked Texas city. It ranked high in jobs, schools, and night life.
