Lisa Marie Wagnon, former teacher in the Salado School District, pled guilty to sexual assault in an incident which involved a teenage student.

Wagnon will spend 30 days in jail, followed by ten years on deferred adjudication probation. If Wagnon completes the probation, a conviction will not appear on her record. According to her plea deal, she must also register as a sex offender and surrender her teaching certificate.

Wagnon was indicted in January for sexual assault and improper relationship between an educator and a student, and turned herself in to sheriff's deputies in October 2012 after a warrant was issued for her arrest following an investigation.

The investigation began after a student reported having sexual relations with a teacher. The Salado Superintendent contacted Child Protective Serviced and the sheriff's office. Wagnon resigned from the district after working for 12 years.
