Four Injured in Temple Car Crash That Resulted in Fire
Four people were hospitalized after their vehicle crashed into a concrete column and caught fire Thursday morning in Temple.
Five Temple Fire & Rescue units were dispatched to the Love of Christ Pantry, 2000 Airport Road, at 3:05 AM after a report of single vehicle crash and fire with occupants trapped inside.
When they arrived at 3:10 AM, they found that an SUV had hit a concrete column head-on and received extensive damage. Temple police officers and bystanders had helped four occupants of the vehicle get out, and a portable fire extinguisher had been used to limit a fire that had started in the engine compartment.
Firefighters extinguished the remaining flames and provided medical assessment and care for the vehicle's passengers. The four were then transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital for treatment. Details about their conditions were not released.
The scene of the crash was cleared by 4:24 AM, and the collision remained under investigation late Thursday morning.
