Fourth Annual Ride for Wreaths is September 20 in Killeen

The fourth annual Ride for Wreaths will be held by the Friends of the Texas State Veterans Cemetery on September 20, 2014, at Killeen Power Sports.

Registration for the Ride for Wreaths is $20, and includes a t-shirt and lunch. Registration for the Ride begins at 8:00 a.m. at Killeen Power Sports, located at 3701 E. Central Texas Expressway, and the Ride will begin at 10:00 a.m.

The day will begin with a pancake breakfast for donations. Riders will then travel from the dealership to the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery for a short presentation. Finally, riders will return to Killeen Power Sports for lunch catered by Big Hoss BBQ, with music and prizes.

The Ride for Wreaths raises money to ensure a wreath is placed on each grave at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery during the Holiday Season.

Friends of the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery is an organization created to support development of the Cemetery, and provides a holiday wreath at each grave on the Saturday after Thanksgiving every year.  This year there will be more than 4,000 wreaths placed at the Cemetery to honor fallen Veterans and their families.
