Killeen police say a fugitive who led them on a car chase with a baby in the backseat Friday is still on the loose and considered armed and dangerous.

According to KPD spokesperson Ofelia Miramontez, detectives were notified Friday that wanted fugitive Deon Clay was traveling in a silver Chevy Impala.

At 4 PM, police stopped the Impala at the intersection of Trimmier Road and Atlas Avenue. The woman driving exited the vehicle, at which point Clay moved to the driver's seat and sped away.

Police say an 18-month-old child was in the backseat as Clay led police on a pursuit toward Safari Drive, where he stopped the car and fled on foot.

Clay is a 26-year-old African-American man last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and dark colored shoes.

Police say Clay is armed and dangerous, and are asking that no one try to apprehend him themselves.

If you spot Clay or have information concerning his whereabouts, please contact Bell County Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-8477 or online at bellcountycrimestoppers.com. Information may also be submitted via the P3 Tips app.

Information leading to an arrest could net a reward of up to $1,000.
