Grand Opening of Corsicana Water and Adventure Park This Weekend
It's been a long time coming for the community of Corsicana, Texas!
This weekend will mark the grand opening of the long-awaited Corsicana Water and Adventure Park. If it's one thing we can't get enough of in Texas it's fun water parks!
Corsicana first announced the park back in 2013 but at the time could not solidify an opening date and specific amenities guests could enjoy until now. A soft open happened earlier this month according to park manager John McClung who also has served on the Corsicana City Council, with the Grand Opening scheduled for Saturday.
So far the feedback from guests indicates one of the best features of the park is that it is so new that there are not the overwhelming crowds often found at the larger water parks in the area. The play area consists of a two-part obstacle course for all skill levels (including kids). If you visit the park you'll swim in 75-degree spring waters that McClung says are checked by Bio-Chem Labs. The park can accommodate up to 110 people at a time.
When you visit you'll book a 45-minute session for $15 per person for the main area. $5 bucks for kids 6 and under (free for their parent) in a smaller children's area of the park. The water park is surrounded by a sand and gravel beach for guests just looking to work on their tan. If you go you'll sign a waiver and must wear a life jacket during all park activities. They will have lifeguards on duty during all sessions.
Food trucks will be on hand for the opening day July 20th. The second half of the expansion will include an indoor trampoline park that features glow in the dark trampolines, ziplines, climbing walls. They expect this park to be open by the end of the year. In 2020, they want to add a party area, kids zone, a wave pool, lazy river, and a 65-foot water slide that folks will be able to see from the highway.
