Foodies in Central Texas have a new reason to be excited! After some delays, work has finally started on the Taste of Cove Food Truck Park in downtown Copperas Cove, Texas.

According to the Copperas Cove Leader Press, the work should be finished in about two months.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on November 11th, and owners Tasha and Scottie Roberts say this is a long time dream coming true. The couple also owns the Sporty Dogg food truck currently based in Killeen, which will also have a place in the park.

The park will feature space for eight different food trucks, plus a covered area with tables and seating. The goal is to have a walk-up park, so the food truck area will not have parking. Instead, customers can use the downtown area streets if they need to park their vehicle.

There will be a restroom available that will be handicap accessible, and a drop off spot for customers who need handicap access will be provided as well.

Where Are The Food Trucks Going?

The park will be located at 105 W. Avenue E in Copperas Cove, on what previously was a vacant lot between RNC Construction and the Copperas Hills Food Mart.
