The absolute best way we can help our fellow Texans in their time of need is to start by visiting the American Red Cross.

The hundreds and thousands of people spending the night in hurricane shelters throughout Texas tonight can benefit right now from your donations at RedCross.ORG.

The video above shows the shelter in Victoria, Texas just about at capacity as people ride out the storm. The amounts of rainfall along the Texas coast are unbelievable as are the amounts of rain falling further inland. Even H-E-B is sending mobile kitchens, pharmacy's and support teams to the Victoria community along with several others.

Part of your donations at RedCross.ORG keeps those efforts going. If you want to gather supplies and send a truck south, it may end up in a parking lot for days or weeks before it can be assigned to someone in need. The American Red Cross is one of the most powerful coordinated agencies we have. Supporting them means directly supporting our fellow Texans. You can also dial 1-800-RED-CROSS to donate money, supplies, your time, or your services, even your blood.

Keep an eye on their site in the coming days as several ways we can help here in central Texas will introduce by the volunteers of the American Red Cross.

Take a look at the video below of the Mayor of Victoria describing the damage to their community.
